Game Recap: Baseball |

Grace Baseball drops four in Indiana

Oakland City, IN – The Grace Christian University Baseball team ran into a talented group from Oakland City University over the weekend for back-to-back doubleheaders on their second road trip of the young 2022 season. After the weekend the Tigers are still in search of that elusive first win in program history, as the high powered offense of the Mighty Oaks seemed to put together a big inning or two each game to propel themselves to four straight wins.

The Tigers' best effort came in game two, when they held a 1-0 lead into the third inning and were able to put 4 runs on the board. Logan Hamstra, Lorenzo Lopez, and Aiden Malone all went 1-3 with an RBI in the game. Kelan Knoll was a bright spot at the plate for Grace all weekend, hitting 4-8 to up his season batting average to .545.

"Every game and every experience is a chance to grow and get better," said Grace Head Coach Colton Wolfe. "We had a lot of positives from the weekends and saw several areas of improvement since our first series; still, there are a few things we need to work on. I always remind these guys that they will have to work harder than any other future group in order to get this program up and running from ground zero. They've never shied away from that task. There's a lot of season left and we can't wait to get another opportunity to compete this week in Chicago."

The Tigers, now 0-7 on the year, continue on this Wednesday in Illinois, facing Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL at 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.
