Hamilton, OH - The Grace Tigers Softball team stopped in Ohio for a double header against Miami University-Hamilton on Thursday afternoon.
Game One
Grace was able to score first, as
Skylar Lowe drove in
Emma Balkema at the top of the first inning. The Harriers scored in each inning, while the Tigers did not score again until the fourth and fifth innings. Miami Hamilton went on to defeat Grace 7-15.
Emma Balkema and
Skylar Lowe led the Tigers with 2 hits each. Lowe also recorded a double, 4 RBIs, and 2 stolen bases.
Renee Viles Gable and
Lexie Alexander each added one hit.
Tammy Perrotta pitched all 5 innings, giving up 15 runs on 12 hits.
Game Two
After a scoreless first two innings, the Harriers scored a run in the third. At the top of the sixth,
Kenzie Brothers was able to drive Viles Gable home. Tied 1-1 going into inning 7, Miami Hamilton squeezed in one last run at the bottom of the seventh.
Kenzie Brothers, Lowe, and Viles Gable recorded one hit a piece. Lowe also stole one base. Balkema pitched 6 innings, with 4 strikeouts. The Tigers lost 1-2.
Grace Softball is back in action this Saturday as they welcome Muskegon Community College to Kellogg Woods Park for a double header, starting at 2pm.
