Kentwood, MI - The Grace Baseball team concluded their regular season on Tuesday afternoon as they welcomed the Comets of Olivet.
The Tigers saw their first offensive action in the third inning when a double by
Dylan Thomas was able to drive
Jared Garnaat home for their first run of the game. At the bottom of the fifth, a double by Garnaat drove
Damian Fernandez home. Garnaat also made it home on a single by Thomas.
Freshman
Daniel Wallington hit his first collegiate home run in the sixth inning, bringing the score to 4-7. The Comets scored 2 final runs at the top of the ninth, while the Tigers fired back with 2 more of their own after a single by Wallington helped Thomas and Garnaat cross the plate. Grace fell by a score of 6-9 to Olivet.
Dylan Thomas led offensively with 4 of the Tigers' 12 hits. Garnaat and Wallington each tallied 2 hits a piece. On the mound for the TIgers was
Brendan Bos throwing 4.0 innings with 5 strikeouts.
Colin Nelson came in to pitch 3.0 innings, striking out 3, and
John Sanocki closed with the final two innings as he struck out 3.
Grace Baseball concluded their regular season with a record of 18-29. The squad will travel to Kansas City, MO next week to kick off the NCCAA Regional Tournament.
