Goshen, IN - The Tigers went on the road to Goshen College to take on the Maple Leafs in a midweek matchup. The Tigers came into this matchup at 16-16 on the year and aimed to push their record back up over the .500 mark.
The offense got off to a hot start with a leadoff double by Mo Lerma, followed by an RBI single by Ben Anderson, Gavin Kleidon would then come up with a big RBI hit and then come around to score on a Dylan Thomas RBI triple capping off the Tigers 3 run 1st inning. The bats would stay hot as the Tigers would score 3 more in the 2nd, after Ryan Mullins scored on an error, and Mo Lerma delivered a huge 2 run bomb.
The bats would go quiet in the 3rd and 4th but would come alive again in the 5th inning where the Tigers put up a 5 spot to extend the lead 11-0 capped off by Mo Lerma's second homerun of the day.
The Tigers wouldn't let up, scoring in the 6th and 7th, and holding the Maple Leafs to just 3 runs. The TIgers would go on to win 15-3 in a run rule victory. On the defensive side Parker Curell picked up his third win of the year after shoving 4.1 IP, and giving up only 1 ER on 3 hits. Kaleb Blaskowski and Mo Lerma would come in behind Curell to close out the win, giving up one run a piece.
The Tigers tallied 18 hits, 9 of those being XBH's and collected 4 stolen bases in the afternoon. The Tigers return home this weekend to take on Alice Lloyd College in a 4 game set at The Woods.
