Rich Renzema

Coach Renzema recently finished his 46th year of coaching basketball in the Grand Rapids area, and his 13th at Grace Bible College. He was the Michigan Class B coach of the in 2001 when he lead the Coopersville Men’s team to a 26 and 2 record and a state finals appearance. He was also the ACCA National Coach of the year in 2006 and the NCCAA National coach of the year in 2008 while leading the team to a school record 28 wins. He started his career at Caledonia High School and then to Wyoming Park High School prior to moving to Coopersville High School.

Coach Renzema was honored by the Michigan High School Coaches Association for winning over 600 varsity basketball games. Basketball is not the only sport he has coached in high School. Some of the other sports he has coached are Cross-Country, Golf and Track. At Coopersville he lead the Women’s track team to the 2003 Team state championship which topped off seven years of going undefeated.  He is the all-time wins leader in Grace women's basketball history with 228.

He has been married for 49 years to his wife Kathie, who travels with the team and serves as the teams activity director. They have four children and six grandchildren. Some of his best memories are coaching his four children in basketball and track.
