Emily Brown is a Cornerstone University graduate (2009), with a degree in Exercise Science. She has worked at Grace Christian University since 2017 and is currently the Advancement Coordinator, developing and fostering connections with individuals and organizations whose financial contributions support the efforts of Grace Students.
Over the last 4 years serving as Assistant Coach under Head Coach Becky Karsten, Grace Volleyball has boasted record breaking numbers, multiple NCCAA Midwest All-Region players, NCCAA scholar athletes, a Frank Vanderlann Award (achievements in athletics and academics as well as Christian character and campus involvement) recipient, and NCCAA All-American award recipients.
In 2014, Grace Volleyball was honored by the NCCAA with the Scholar Team Award as they achieved an in season team cumulative grade point average of 3.6 (the highest GPA in the NCAA II).
After clinching the first winning record in 21 years and a 3rd place Regional finish in 2015, Grace rose in 2016 to claim 2nd in the Mideast Region, and was also selected to compete at Nationals in Kissimmee, Florida (first national appearance as a program in 20 years).
During the national tournament Grace was the only team to increase in overall standings (from 8th to 5th) as well as the only team to achieve an upset during pool play. Grace ended their memorable season 5th in the Nation.
Multiple players from the 2017 squad earned their keep in the Grace Volleyball record books, including two All-American honors, two All-Region, four Scholar-Athletes, and seven players named to the Academic Dean's list for recording a 3.5 GPA or higher.
