Ashley Xiong Vang

Coach Ashley is originally from from Davisburg, Michigan, where she was a standout on the Holly High School varsity basketball team from 2007-2011.  She was a decorated player, earning team MVP 3 times and All-League honors while being named to Oakland County’s top 50 player list in 2010.  After a stint at the University of Akron where she played club basketball, Ashley moved back to the Mitten to attend Grand Valley State University, where she graduated with a degree in Supply Chain Management in 2016.
 
Coach Ash made the transition from Associate Head Coach to Head Coach in January 2021, and was able to lead the Tigers to a Regional Championship and an NCCAA Final Four appearance to close out her first season at the helm, adding to another Regional Championship and Final Four in 2020 as Assistant Coach.

Ashley is married to her husband Daniel Vang, and they currently reside in Allendale, MI.  In addition to coaching, she spends her days working in facility management at Grace Christian University.  In her free time, Ashley loves to be active in all sports, spend time with family, enjoy the outdoors, and host Bible studies with friends.  She currently attends Grand Rapids First Church.
