The Tigers of GBC faced the Wolverines of U of M Dearborn last night in a four set showdown.

After dropping the first set with a score of 19-25, Grace picked up their energy levels and answered back with a well-fought win of their own, outscoring U of M 25-23. The Tigers put down 27 kills in the first and second set alone!

Despite hard hits and multiple defensive blocks, GBCVB couldn't quite clinch the third and fourth sets, narrowly dropping both with scores of 20-25 and 21-25. It was a close match overall as the Tigers were defeated with a total match score of 85-98 in favor of the Wolverines.

Abby Schultz collected an impressive 41 set assists on the match! Anna Veldink and Amy Leszinske recorded 15 and 14 digs respectively of the total 44 earned digs. Adrianna Bunce put down 17 kills.

Marlae Sloothaak earned the game ball for the night as she led the way for the Tiger's in both blocking categories (solo and assisted). Her coachability and willingness to make adjustments mid-game was crucial to the pace of the match.

Tigers are back in action this Saturday (10/3) as they face Illinois Institute of Technology and Mount Mary College on the road. Games will be in Chicago at 2:00pm CST and 4:00pm CST.
