GBC vs. Albion

GBCVB traveled on Tuesday to face the Britons of Albion College, NCAA III. Despite the three set loss, the Tigers of Grace Bible College played extremely well.

"We are proud of the effort and the aggressiveness put forth," Coach Karsten said. "Energy stayed high and despite the loss, we stuck together as a team and put up some great numbers against great competition."

The match concluded in favor of the Brits over the Tigers with scores of 13-25, 23-25 and 20-25. Both Grace and Albion contributed to the many hard hits, great digs and long volleys of the night. Defensive effort was especially notable as both teams collected digs in the low seventies (GBC 73 digs, Albion 74 digs).

Adrianna Bunce, Amy Leszinske, and Allyssa Thompson led the attack with 7, 6 and 4 kills respectively. Abby Schultz collected 21 set assists. Anna Veldink, Leszinske, and Bunce earned 15, 13 and 10 digs respectively.

Bunce earned the game ball for the night with her solid defense, serve receive passes, and offensive aggressiveness.

The Tigers leave Thursday for their longest trip of the season in which they will collect over 1,000 miles on the road to and from Hancock, MI. Match play resumes on Friday 10/9 against Gogebic College 5:00pm and Mount Mary College 8:00pm; Saturday 10/10 vs. Finlandia University 10:30am and North Central University at Noon.
