The Tigers of Grace Bible College started their 2015 season out strong taking three straight sets from Dayspring College Eagles (25-7, 25-8, 25-14).
Adrianna Bunce and
Amy Leszinske led Grace with 11 and 7 kills respectively.
Allyssa Thompson gathered half of Graces blocks, and
Anna Veldink went on a serving streak of 15 points with three aces in set one alone.
The second match of the day against Emmaus College proved a tougher battle for GBCVB. The Tigers dropped two straight sets with scores of 17-25 and 22-25 before claiming their first win with a score of 25-21. The fourth set was a hard fought battle, but the Tigers could not clinch last-minute points and dropped the fourth and final set to Emmaus with a score of 23-25.
"It was a very promising first outing for us," said Coach Karsten." The girls really gelled and  played well together. While there are many things we noticed we need to work on, we also see a lot of potential in our future!"
Tigers are back in action Monday night August 31st for scrimmage play. Official gameplay resumes September 11 and 12 as the team travels to Tennessee to face Crown College, Johnson University and the 2014 Division II national champions, Kentucky Christian University.
Thanks to all our fans who watched online and in person. It was great to have so many supporters in the stands in Chicago! Gooo Tigers!
