Chicago, IL - For the first time in recent history, the Grace men's soccer team defeated #4 Moody Bible Institute on Saturday, 4-3 in overtime.
After holding a 3-0 advantage after the half, the Tigers had a defensive lapse and allowed the Archers to tie the game back up just 15 minutes into the second half. The game would not be decided in regulation, as the score stayed knotted at 3-3, forcing extra time.Â
Jorge Leon swiftly put the ball into the corner of the net just before an Archer defender could collapse on him, lifting Grace to their first victory against Moody Bible Institute this decade.
Sophomore
Daniel Sischo scored twice and sophomore
Tarcisio Silva added the other goal in the first half. Sophomore
Ryan Wilson had two assists, while Silva added one.
The Tigers return to action on Tuesday at 4:00 pm in Howell, MI, against Cleary University.
