Grace falls in first round of NCCAA Nationals

Kissimmee, FL - A sluggish first half for the Grace men's soccer team resulted in a loss to the Bob Jones University Bruins in the first round of the NCCAA National Tournament Wednesday afternoon, 5-0.

The two teams were knotted at 0-0 for the first 17 minutes of the game, before the Bruins broke out to a 1-0 lead and then scored three more times in the next 17 minutes.  The Tigers would go into the halftime break down 4-0 and would never recover.  They battled in the second half and created multiple chances, but ultimately they could not find the goal, resulting in the 5-0 final.

Shots for the game ended up 14-7 in the Bruins' favor, and shots on goal ended at 11-5.

"It's really unfortunate that we came out and didn't have it today," commented Head Coach Dustin Buchanan.  "We'll use this as a learning experience for Friday and go out and perform against Ozark."

Grace will return to the field Friday afternoon, facing #6 seed Ozark Christian College at 2:30 pm to close out their Nationals trip.
