Lake Zurich, IL - The Grace Bible College volleyball team won both of their games Saturday afternoon, moving them to 2-1 thus far on the young 2016 season.
Melinda Thomas (SO/Kentwood, MI) received the game ball for leading the team in kills for both games (14), as well as for her overall consistent play.
Other kill leaders included
Adrianna Bunce (JR/Caledonia, MI) with 12 and
Amy Leszinske (SR/Ravenna, MI) with 11. Setter
Ashley Bearden (JR/Fenton, MI) had an impressive 35 set assists on the day.
Emma Summerfield (FR/Grand Rapids, MI) hammered out 12 aces on the day.
"It's great to get a couple solid wins under our belt," said Coach
Becky Karsten. "Our goal today was to control the pace of the game and keep high levels of intensity."
The coaching staff was especially pleased with how every single player contributed to the victories.
"It was great to see everyone fulfill their roles and collect these two wins as a team," added Karsten.
