Grace upends Maranatha, 4-2

Box Score
Wyoming, MI – Over the past few years the Grace Bible College men's soccer team has created quite the rivalry with Maranatha Baptist University in the NCCAA Midwest Region.  With the recent changes in the NCCAA, this season brought about their first out-of-region match-up in recent history, but the intense competition between the two teams was still very evident at Velting Field this weekend.

Grace was able to take a 2-0 lead into halftime, and with a goal to put themselves up 3-0 in the second half, it looked as if they were going to cruise to victory.  The Sabercats did not quit, however, and they were able to score to cut the lead to 3-1.  Sophomore Tarcisio Silva was able to put in another goal to lift the Tiger lead to 4-1 afterwards, which would all but seal the deal.  Maranatha was able to score later in the game to result in the 4-2 final score in favor of the Tigers.

Grace will return to action on Wednesday in Lansing at Great Lakes Christian College.
