Tigers struggle offensively, fall 2-0 to Illinois Tech

Box Score Chicago, IL - The Grace men's soccer team was defeated on the road by Illinois Tech Monday afternoon, 2-0.  The Tigers' defense held strong in the first half to keep the game scoreless, and continued their stellar play in the second half despite giving up two goals.  The offensive attack could not find any openings to equal the scores from Illinois Tech, resulting in the 2-0 setback.

"We took a bit to get our legs going," commented Head Coach Dustin Buchanan.  "Once we did we felt our way into the match after weathering the storm of some good play from Illinois Tech.  The second half we did well in our defensive and middle third, but struggled to get going in our attacking third, and lacked creativity and making dangerous balls for whatever reason."

Buchanan had some good things to say about some of the individual performances in the middle and back of the field.

"Jorge Leon and Ryan Wilson did a solid job in the middle.  Jake Larsen was fantastic in the net, as were our two center backs Ethan Savoy and Nick Pilieci."

The Tigers return to the field this Saturday against Moody Bible Institute at home at 3:00 pm.
