#4 Kentucky Christian prevails in Mideast region battle

Box Score Wyoming, MI – The Grace men's soccer team fell to 4-7 on the season Thursday afternoon, after falling to the NCCAA's #4 ranked team, Kentucky Christian University, 3-1.

The Tigers fell behind 1-0 early in the game and allowed another goal early in the second half to let the Knights take a 2-0 advantage.  Junior Daniel Sischo drew a penalty in the box and subsequently converted the penalty kick with 12 minutes remaining in the game to cut the Knights' lead to 2-1.  Kentucky Christian would hold strong defensively until the finish, scoring with under 20 seconds remaining in the game to solidify the 3-1 road victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Jake Larsen recorded 9 saves on the game.  The goal for Sischo gives him 11 thus far on the season, averaging one per game.

The Tigers return to Velting Field this Saturday against another NCCAA regional opponent in Appalachian Bible College.  The game starts at 2:00 pm.
