Box Score Lansing, MI - Despite the absence of senior captain
Ashley Bearden due to illness, the Grace volleyball team swept Great Lakes Christian College on the road, 3-0. The final set scores were 25-3, 25-5, and 25-7.
"Our team handled a bit of a curve ball this week in true form to our theme of resilience," commented Head Coach
Becky Karsten. "Due to player illness, we changed our rotation from a 6-2 to a 5-1 for the match. The team practiced hard to make the required adjustments involved in moving three players to 'new' positions. We modified our game plan together and earned a successful outcome from the game."
Every Tiger player contributed in the win and made an appearance in the night's box score.
"Kudo's to
Meagan Pifer for a strong serving game,
Danielle Boyd for sound defense, and to
Tori Dogger for commanding the court as our only setter in the 5-1 offense," added Coach Karsten.
Danielle earned the team's "resilience ball" for her efforts and contributions in the victory.
The Tigers return to their home floor this Saturday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, facing Kellogg Community College and Lake Michigan College in a tri-match.
