JV remains undefeated after win over Cornerstone

Box Score Wyoming, MI – The Grace JV men's basketball team has started the season 3-0 for the first time in program history, defeating Cornerstone University 88-81 on their home floor Thursday night.  The game's intensity level was high, with back-and-forth scoring from start to finish with neither team ever holding a double-digit lead.

"We were without one of our top players tonight, and every guy stepped up for us," commented JV Head Coach Ryan Krombeen after the game.

Freshman forward Brady Boothe had a monster game in the absence of injured sophomore Jason Long, scoring 23 points and pulling down 11 rebounds for the double-double.  Sophomore Mike Warren scored 13 points and added 8 boards.  Freshman Craig Whittaker knocked down 3-5 threes for 11 points.  Junior guards Deangelo Williams and Lake Serba scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.  Serba dished out a team-high 5 assists.  Williams had 4 steals to lead the Tigers.

Grace returns to the court next Tuesday at Calvin College at 5:15 pm.
