Box Score Wyoming, MI - The Grace Bible College volleyball team faced a talented Indiana University-Northwest team Tuesday night in front of a great crowd at their opening game at the Aldrich Athletic Center. The Tigers were just a few points away from securing victory against the NAIA DII Redhawks in the 4
th set, as they were tied with the Redhawks at 20-20 with their eyes on their 3
rd set win. A composed Redhawks team would rally from that point on, and after nearly two and a half hours of intense competition, the Tigers fell in the final set of five games, 15-9.
Senior
Ashley Bearden led the Tigers with both 15 kills and 20 assists on the night. Fellow seniors
Adrianna Bunce and
Meagan Pifer also came to play, with Bunce contributing 10 kills and a team-high 5 aces, while Pifer controlled the middle of the net with 4 solo blocks. Sophomore
Emma Summerfield recorded 13 digs to lead the Tigers, followed by 9 from Bearden and 8 from Bunce.
The Tigers move to 2-1 on the season and will have a week off before they return to their home floor for a tri-match with Great Lakes Christian College and Appalachian Bible College.
