Box Score 2 Dubuque, IA - The women's volleyball team faced a tough task this weekend, as they traveled to Emmaus Bible College to face the NCCAA #6 Eagles and follow it up with a match against NCAA DIII Grinnell College. The Tigers battled hard in three games against the Eagles, but were unable to make it over the hump, losing 22-25, 23-25, 23-25. In their final match against Grinnell, the Tigers fell again in a three set match that may have had a different result had just a few more points gone their way, losing 22-25, 16-25, 22-25.
"We made a few changes in our defensive line up for weekend play which worked out extremely well," commented Grace Head Coach
Becky Karsten. "Unfortunately, even with a more aggressive and consistent back row presence our offense was unable to terminate critical points towards the end of our sets."
Karsten continued, "Moving forward we need to minimize our mistakes, and string together key points in a row. If we can clean up those areas, we will find ourselves back in the winning column."
The Tigers return to the road this Wednesday, traveling to Gary, Indiana to face the Indiana University-Northwest Red Hawks. It is sure to be a great match-up, as the two teams battled in five sets just a month ago.
