Grayson, KY/Mount Hope, WV – The Grace men's soccer team split their road trip against two NCCAA DII Mideast opponents this past weekend, falling in a heartbreaker to #4 Kentucky Christian University 2-1 on Friday and following up with a 12-0 win over Appalachian Bible College on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Nick Pilieci gave the Tigers a 1-0 advantage in the first half over the Knights of KCU, and the Tigers would take that lead into halftime.  Despite this, the Knights were able to connect twice in the first portion of the second half to hand Grace their first loss of the season in the NCCAA DII.  Head Coach Dustin Buchanan spoke after the game.

"We knew KCU was a good team and would have to play well. I felt we did a good job in a number of areas but in the end came up short.  We needed to do a bit better in the final third and make good on the chances we created."

The Tigers then found their groove in Saturday's match-up with Appalachian Bible College, defeating the Warriors 12-0 in Mount Hope, West Virginia.

"Jorge was fantastic controlling the game and getting 3 goals as well as 3 assists.  It was important for us to keep the clean sheet and stay disciplined as well," commented Head Coach Dustin Buchanan.

They now stand at 5-7 headed into a road game Tuesday evening at Andrews University at 4:30 pm.  They return home to close out their regular season with match-ups against Boyce College on Friday at 3:30 pm and Saint Mary of the Woods College at 2:30 pm Saturday.
