Wyoming, MI – The Tigers upended the Jayhawks of Muskegon Community College Wednesday evening in an overtime thriller at the Aldrich Athletic Center, 72-69. It was a rollercoaster game for both teams, as the Tigers led by 10 late in the second quarter, and the Jayhawks dominated the third quarter to build a 7 point lead. The fourth quarter and overtime period were full of lead changes and intense competition.
The win marks the first of the year for Grace, who have started their year with a very challenging schedule that has included two NAIA and two NCAA DI opponents.
Junior Miranda Carlson led the Tigers with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists, followed by freshman Bre Harris with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals. Ashley Hoek also pulled down 8 rebounds to tie the team-high, and Megan Scholtens dished out 5 assists.
The Tigers, now 1-5 on the season, return to their home floor on Saturday at 1:00 pm, facing Calumet College of St. Joseph (NAIA DII).
