Wyoming, MI – The Grace Tigers' valiant comeback effort fell short on Saturday evening against the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers (NAIA DII), as they suffered a 67-61 loss at the Aldrich Athletic Center.
The Tigers fell behind by 11 points with 7:00 remaining in the third period before surging with an 11-0 run capped off with a three-point shot by junior Megan Scholtens would tie things up at 43-43 just a few minutes later. The rest of the game in its entirety was back-and-forth, but the Racers made the plays necessary down the stretch to escape with the win.
Grace forced 21 turnovers with stifling defense, but they were outrebounded 48-34 on the night.
Freshman Bre Harris led the Tigers with 17 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. Scholtens finished the night 3-4 from three-point land en route to 13 points. Freshman Ashley Hoek led the Tigers with 10 rebounds.
Next up for Grace is Silver Lake College this Saturday at 1:00 pm at home.
