We are officially Grace Christian University!

Wyoming, MI - July is upon us, and Grace Bible College now has officially transitioned into Grace Christian University.  This comes with a lot of significant changes in the athletic department.  Their name identity as the "Grace Tigers" will remain, but the colors will not.  The Tigers are now grace blue, black, and white, and have re-branded to the logos seen in the photo above.  The Grace Tigers website will be updated with the new colors later on this week.

Athletic Director Gary Bailey said that the color change was a result of a lot of time and intensive studies, and then shared that a lot of positive feedback already has been received from students and student-athletes.

"The color change had many different areas of concern," added Bailey.  "I think first, we wanted to establish ourselves and our new name with new colors.  Navy blue is the most used color in sports.  Secondly, black and white are so much easier to buy uniforms, shoes, and equipment with.  We love the new light blue as an accent color"

Bailey went on to speak about the affect the name change will have on recruiting for the athletic programs.

"The name change certainly helps with the recruiting process.  Many times our coaches run into the questions about student-athletes going into ministry or missionary work.  We are a Christian University and our mission and purpose has not changed.  We are preparing students in a number of areas and majors to impact the world in their field."

The mission statement of Grace Christian University is "to graduate Godly individuals prepared to serve Christ in church and society."

To celebrate the rich history of the Grace Tigers, the athletics department will be selling old jerseys, banners, stadium chairs, and other memorabilia online beginning on July 19th (more info).
