Wyoming, MI – The NCCAA DII #4 Grace Christian University Tigers upended the NCCAA's #6 team nationally, Maranatha Baptist University, 2-0 on a rainy cold afternoon Friday at Velting Field.
Senior
Alex Tolar-Key got things going for the Tigers in the first half with a goal off of a corner kick and then junior
Maddie Brown put in the second and final goal in the beginning stages of the second half. Sophomore
Regan Befus and the Grace defensive players turned out a spectacular game, recording a quality shutout over the Sabercats.
Head Coach
Scott Teesdale was pleased with the team's play overall.
"This was probably our most complete game of the season," commented Teesdale. "I thought we moved the ball really well and played with a lot of composure. As a team, we worked really hard in supporting, moving in to open space, and our communication was excellent."
Grace returns to Velting Field tomorrow at 2:00 pm to face Mount Mary University (WI).
