Wyoming, MI – It was a very evenly matched volleyball double-header between Oakland City University and Grace Christian University Saturday afternoon at the Aldrich Athletic Center.  It was a roller coaster of a day for both teams, and both would come away with 4 game wins and 1 match win.

After falling in the first game of the first match 24-26, the Tigers dominated the final three games 24-15, 25-21, and 25-18 to result in a first match victory.  The second match would start in very familiar fashion, with the Mighty Oaks squeeking out game 1 by a score of 25-23.  The Tigers would win game 2, but could not keep things rolling in the next two games, resulting in a 3-1 loss.

Ashley Hoek had 30 kills on 3 blocks for the Tigers on the day, and Megan Postma contributed 25 kills. Dana DuChemin and Tori Johnston combined 64 assists throughout the two matches, and Emma Summerfield led the Tiger defense with 43 digs.

The Tigers move to 9-13 on the year heading into another home match with Lake Michigan College this upcoming Wednesday at 6:30 pm.
