Box Score 3 Hancock, MI – The Grace Christian University volleyball team finished the weekend 2-1 at Finlandia University. They started things off by winning a competitive match-up with Mount Mary Friday night in four games. Saturday morning started with a quick 3-0 win over host Finlandia University, but Buena Vista University topped the Tigers 3-0 in their third and final match of the weekend.
The Tigers placed 2nd in the tournament overall on the weekend, and
Ashley Hoek and
Tori Johnston were named to the All-Tournament team for their stellar play.
"We had some really awesome moments as a team this weekend playing to our full potential and also bettering our offense," commented Grace Head Coach
Kerri Shultz. "Overall we stayed more consistent with aggressive play and I'm proud of the girls for not settling and relentlessly pursuing our team goals."
The Tigers move to 8-9 on the year, and they will play in their long-awaited home opener next Saturday, October 12, as they host a tri match starting at 10:00 am.
