Winona Lake, IN – A severely shorthanded Grace women's basketball team came away from the weekend 0-2 on the road, after falling to two of the top NAIA teams in the state of Indiana – Grace College and Goshen College.
Turnovers would hamper the Tigers throughout the weekend, losing the possession battle significantly in their two losses despite rebounding on a pretty even level with their opponents.
By Saturday, the Tigers were down to eight active players with injuries and
Megan George and
Emily Libey busy at NCCAA Nationals in Missouri for cross country. Although it was a struggle, Head Coach
CB Long was able to get a few of his players some valuable experience against some great competition.
On Friday,
Ashley Hoek led the Tigers with 16 points and 12 rebounds after arriving just in time for the game from NCCAA Regionals for volleyball in Lousville, KY.
Megan Scholtens led the Tigers with 15 points on Saturday and
Ashley Hoek followed with 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks.
Grace returns to the floor on Tuesday at 7:00 pm against Davenport University (NCAA DII) in Grand Rapids, MI.
