Berrien Springs, MI – It was not the greatest outside shooting performance for the Grace Tigers against the Andrews University Cardinals zone defense Monday night, but they found a way to grind out a 66-59 road victory.
After leading for the majority of the game and developing a double-digit lead in the second half, the Cardinals came back to close things up to a one possession game late in the second half. A huge three-point shot from Adam Kregel with a minute remaining would ice things for the Tigers, a very timely shot after they were 0-11 in the second half until that point from beyond the arc.
Seniors Austin Jackson and Brandon Winchester-Jones were the only Tigers in double-figures scoring with 20 and 11 points, respectively. Jackson also pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds, as the Tigers out-rebounded the Cardinals 41-32 on the night.
The Tigers face another tough road test tonight against Ferris State University in Big Rapids, MI, tipping off at 7:00 pm. Their next game after the Thanksgiving holiday will take place at Little Caesar's Arena against Great Lakes Christian College on December 4th.
