Whiting, IN/Benton Harbor, MI – The Grace Volleyball team had a roller coaster of a weekend, winning their first and third matches over the weekend and losing their second and fourth.

The Tigers were able to knock off Calumet College of St. Joseph 3-1 to kick things off on Friday, scoring their first victory over an NAIA opponent this season.  They fell 3-0 to Knox College (NCAA DIII) later that night, but recovered with a 3-1 win over Lake Michigan College Saturday morning.  The weekend would finish with a 3-0 setback to a solid Harper College squad.

Ashley Hoek had a team-high 28 kills in the first two matches, with Emma Summerfield contributing a team-high 40 digs.  Official statistics from Saturday's matches are still pending and will be available soon.

"It was an exciting weekend playing teams that made us dig deep in our mental game and play a smarter offense," said Head Coach Kerri Shultz.  "I am so proud of the wins we had because we did not give up, and the close loses we suffered just made us hungry to play again."

The Tigers do not have to wait long for another opportunity to hit the court, as they head over to the eastside of the state tonight to face Jackson Community College at 6:30 pm.
