Wyoming, MI - The Grace JV men's basketball team opened up their season with an impressive 83-60 home victory over Grace College (Ind.) Thursday evening.
Gerard Oray led the Tigers with a whopping 24 points on 50% shooting from the field. He was then followed in scoring by Adam Rearick and Noah Johnston who both chipped in 10 points a piece. Oray also led the Tigers in three other categories, with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.
"I thought our guys played pretty well overall today," commented Grace Christian Head Coach Ryan Krombeen. "Our returners really set the tone early, and out newcomers, even though showing some nerves, played very well. We crashed the boards all night, which was great."
The Tigers won the rebounding battle tonight by a significant margin, out-rebounding the visiting Grace College Lancers 58-29.
Coach Krombeen also added, "We still have plenty of things to work on, but it was a great start, and we were able to get every player minutes tonight."
The Tigers' next time taking the court will be Thursday November 5th at 8pm, as they head on the road for the first time for a rematch with Grace College (Ind.).
