Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian University women's basketball team extended their win streak to five with a good team win over Oakland City University (NCAA DII, NCCAA DI) on Saturday afternoon at the Aldrich Athletic Center.
Ashley Hoek continues to produce on both ends of the floor for the Tigers, scoring 18 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 8 blocks.
Bre Harris scored 18 as well, while dishing out 6 assists and taking 6 steals.
A huge third quarter surge would result in a 20+ point lead for the Tigers after leading by just 5 at the half. All 14 Tigers that dressed were able to get at least 5 minutes of playing time.
Head Coach
CB Long spoke after the game.
"I was proud of all our ladies today. The pieces are falling into place. Injuries are giving way to depth. We are a very deep team. With athletes and talent that allow us to do many things. Play all types of basketball and it's coming together all at the right time. It's going to be emotional. It's going to be exciting. It's going to be fun. I don't want to miss a second of it. Bre played her best game of the year. Ashley May have too. Both with 18 points. Bre with 6 assists/rebounds/steals. And Ashley with 8 blocks and 8 rebounds against a young lady who was compared to a Division 1 player. It was a good day to be a Tiger!"
The NCCAA DII #4 Tigers, currently sitting at 13-14 on the year, now await a regional match-up with Great Lakes Christian College next Tuesday at 5:00 pm on Senior Night. This will be their final home game of the season.
