Wyoming, MI – The Grace Christian University volleyball team prevailed 3-0 in their home opener Tuesday evening over regional opponent Great Lakes Christian College.

The Tigers snatched the first set quickly, outscoring the Crusaders 25-6.  After a little more back-and-forth action in set two, the Tigers won 25-15.  The third set was all Tigers, as they capped things off with a 25-4 victory.

"I was happy that our consistency in serving was better tonight, and we pushed to run our offense more," said Grace Head Coach Kerri Shultz. "We definitely still need to work on consistency and energy on our side of the court, but we were so grateful to be playing at home for the first time and to come out with a win against a regional team!"

Ashley Hoek finished with 10 kills and Tori Johnston had 20 assists and a season-high 9 serving aces.

The Tigers return to the court on Saturday in Lansing, MI against Maranatha Baptist University and Great Lakes Christian College at 1:00 and 3:00 pm, respectively.
