Lansing, MI – A fantastic third quarter propelled the Grace women's basketball team to a 74-64 win in their season opener over Emmaus Bible College on a neutral court at Great Lakes Christian College.
After falling behind 23-19, the Tigers evened things up with the Eagles at 33 apiece headed into the halftime break. Grace would then explode for a 26-point third quarter, building a 15 point lead headed into the fourth and would hold on strong for the 10-point victory.
Five Tigers finished in double-figures scoring led by
Ashley Hoek and
Megan George with 14 points each.
Emily Libey and
Jada Reese added 13, and
Ashlyn Wilkes pitched in 12 in her debut. Hoek also contributed a team-high 14 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Taejah Cross and Libey dished out 6 assists.
The Tigers are back in action Monday night on the road against Siena Heights University on the eastside of the state, tipping off at 7:30 pm.
