Tigers fall in Regional semis to #1 Johnson University-TN

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Mount Hope, WV – The Grace Tigers volleyball team defeated tournament host Appalachian Bible College 3-0 in the opening round of the 2021 Mideast Regional Tournament, but would eventually be knocked off by #1 seed Johnson University-Tennessee in the semifinal round 3-1 to conclude their season.

After falling behind 2-0 to the Royals in the semifinals, the Tigers played some inspired volleyball to capture the third set. With some feelings of deja-vu back to 2020 when the Tigers won the final over the Royals in a five set thriller, the Royals turned the switch and played a fantastic fourth game to propel them past the Tigers for the 3-1 victory. Megan Postma led the Tigers with 18 kills in her final match of her career.

Freshman Morgan Martin and senior Megan Postma were named 1st-Team All-Region, while senior Dana duChemin was named 2nd-team and Eleyna Zichterman received honorable-mention. The Tigers finish the 2021 season with a 10-16, as they were on the bubble to secure an at-large bid but they would unfortunately not be selected for the NCCAA DII National Tournament in Kissimmee, FL.
