Dubuque, IA – The Grace men's basketball team put in a quality balanced effort over the weekend in Iowa and Head Coach
Gary Bailey and his staff were able to see multiple different line-ups on the floor as the Tigers notched two wins over Emmaus Bible College and Faith Baptist Bible College.
The Tigers built an early lead and never looked back on Friday against the host Emmaus Eagles, leading 44-23 at the break and finishing things off with an 84-67 win. Five Tigers finished in double-figures scoring, led by
Kellum Bridgeforth and
Kierson Watts with 16 points each.
Jarius Shumpert added 15.
It was the defense that shined for Grace on Saturday, holding Faith Baptist to 17 first half points and a season-low 50 points on the game to solidify a 79-50 win.
Zac Yorke recorded a career-high 19 points to lead the Tigers, followed by 13 points from
Cole Powell and 12 from
Kellum Bridgeforth.
Grace moves to 7-5 on the year and returns to their home gym for two games this week for the first time this month against University of Michigan-Dearborn on Wednesday at 7:00 pm and Trinity Christian College (IL) on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
