Spring Arbor, MI – The Grace women's basketball team played in their first game in the state of Michigan in 3 months Monday evening, taking on Spring Arbor University on the road.
Grace would struggle early trying to acclimate themselves without injured starting point guard
Bre VanVleet, and they headed into halftime down 43-23 to the Cougars. Despite an early deficit, the Tigers finished strong in the second half, outscoring the Cougars by two points in the final twenty minutes. In the end Spring Arbor prevailed, 70-52.
Megan George led Grace with 19 points, and she was the only Tiger to score in double figures in the low-scoring affair.
Ashley Hoek continued her stretch of double-figure rebound games with a team-high 11 boards.
Jada Reese added a team high 3 blocks.
Grace now sits at 6-12 on the season, and they will travel to Goshen College (IN) next on Wednesday for their last game this week before finishing off their regular season next week at Lincoln Christian University and Oakland City University.
