Winston-Salem, NC - Both the Grace Christian University women's and men's soccer teams played Carolina University (NCCAA DI) Thursday afternoon in their first of two games on their longest road trip of the 2021 season. The host Bruins were able to come out in the winning column in both games, defeating the Tigers women 6-2 and the men 2-0.
The Bruins went up 2-0 quickly on the grace women in the first 10 minutes, but
Kylie Plichta put the Tigers on the board and closed the game to 2-1 about midway through the first half. The Tigers surrendered two more goals before the halftime buzzer however, falling behind 4-1.
Jennie Sue Pilieci scored a quick goal to start the second half to give the Tigers some life, but the Bruins went on to close things out with 2 more goals, resulting in the 6-2 victory.
The men's team allowed 2 goals in the first period and the rest of the game would end up scoreless, resulting in the 2-0 setback against the talented Bruins.
Drew Steensma recorded 5 saves in goal for the Tigers.
Both teams will now head on down to Toccoa Falls College in Toccoa Falls, GA for games Saturday at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. The games will be available via live broadcast, here:
