Wyoming, MI – The Grace Christian University men's basketball team welcomed regional opponent Campbellsville-Harrodsburg to town Friday night. The Tigers started the first half on fire, knocking down 6-8 threes in the first 20 minutes to take a 44-29 lead into halftime against the NCCAA DII #3 ranked Pioneers.
The Pioneers came out of the gates in the second half and showed every bit of why they are one of the top teams in the NCCAA, outscoring the Tigers 21-5 and taking the lead 50-49 with 12 minutes remaining. At this point, the Tigers regained their poise and after taking the lead back on the next possession would never let it go as they cruised to an 80-71 win.
Despite turning the ball over 25 times, the Tigers shot an efficient 59% from the floor on the night and outrebounded the Pioneers by 16. Kierson Watts led the Tigers with 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Parker Neu added 15 and 8.
Next up for the Tigers is a showdown with NCCAA DII #1 Great Lakes Christian College on Tuesday at Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit, MI.
