Gallatin, TN – Despite a valiant comeback effort in the final minute of the game Thursday evening, the Grace Christian University men's basketball team dropped their first game of their Tennessee road trip to Boyce College by a score of 72-69.
Facing a 16 point deficit in the second half, the Tigers stormed back to tie the game with under 20 seconds remaining as
Parker Neu knocked down two huge three-point shots in the final minute to knot things up. The Bulldogs, however, made it count on their final play, knocking down a game winning three-point shot to escape with the win.
Kierson Watts led the Tigers with 16 points, followed by 13 from Neu and 11 from
Cole Powell.
Jarius Shumpert recorded his first double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tigers return to action and look to bounce back this afternoon against Simmons College (KY) at 2:00 pm (CT).
