Wyoming, MI - Your Grace Christian Tigers Men's Basketball squad was looking to rebound after a tough loss to Alma College the day before. This time, it would be Andrews University who would take on the Tigers.
From the tip-off, the Tigers were electric hitting their first eight threes right out of the gate. The momentum would remain for the Tigers for the entire first half; shooting over 50% from FG, the Arc & 50% from the free throw line. In the second half, it was much of the same story as the Tigers looked to continue to work. The shooting remained over 50% for FG & free throws for the Tigers.
Overall, a great team performance for the Tigers against Andrews. Scoring leaders for GCU were:
Eli Carlson 19pts, Gavin Fisher 17pts, Braiden McDonald 15pts. & Jalen Rawls 13pts.
"It was a great team win. Everyone came in and contributed for us. The best part is how well we shared the ball, everyone wanted to see each other succeed and when that happens, it makes the game of basketball easy and fun". Commented GCU player,
Eli Carlson. We also heard from Gavin Fisher who added, "it was a great win In every aspect for us, coming off a few tough games we wanted to get back to just having fun and we did just that. The ball movement was great and we took pride in our defense (credit to our guards). It was an overall great team win!"
Coach Krombeen's thoughts on the game:
"I could not have asked for a better answer from our guys after our poor performance last night against Alma. Defensively, we finally took pride in keeping a team out of the lane, and consistently rotated on help side. Offensively, we kept the ball off of the floor, and used the pass all night. It was beautiful. a 23/5 assist-to-turnover ratio gave a glimpse of what this team can look like night in and night out if we can play with consistency. All 14 guys brought it today. Our depth will always be our strength, and it was good to see it on full display today."
