Wyoming, MI – Grace Christian University's race for their third straight Regional Championship banner fell short Saturday afternoon against a talented Campbellsville-Harrodburg team, as the Tigers fell to the Pioneers 76-70 in the Regional Final at the Aldrich Athletic Center.
After a slow start and a 44-27 deficit at halftime, the Tigers slid a little bit more at the beginning of the second half and the Pioneers took a 51-29 lead with 18:00 remaining. At this point, the Grace men flipped a switch and steadily fought their way back into the game, so much so that they had possession of the ball and were only down 73-70 with 1:00 remaining in the game. To the fortune of the Pioneers, the Tigers would go empty on that possession and they would knock down free throws in crunch time to result in the 76-70 win for the 2022 Regional Championship.
Kierson Watts closed out his memorable career with a 23 point performance.
Parker Neu added 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Kellum Bridgeforth had 11 points and 9 rebounds. The Tigers finish the 2021-22 season 17-15.
