Tigers fall to Flying Dutchmen in first local action

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Caledonia, MI – The Grace Christian University baseball team took the field for the first time locally Monday evening, taking on Hope College at Davenport University's Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.

The Tigers struggled to get things going in the first of two games, but showed some flashes against a very good Flying Dutchmen team in the second game, starting things out with a 2-0 lead in the first inning. After three quality innings from pitcher Cole Crabtree, Hope would break free in the fourth inning, putting 10 runs on the board. The Tigers finished strong at the plate in the last two innings, putting 5 more runs on the board, but eventually would fall 20-7.

Dylan Thomas, Carter Hewitt, and Jacob DeLong all recorded 2 RBI's. Crabtree and Adam Pierce both recorded 3 strikeouts on the mound.
Next up for the Tigers is a trip to NCAA DII Saginaw Valley State University this Thursday for a single game at 3:05 pm.
