Tigers notch first win & more in big weekend at Lamar Park

Wyoming, MI - In their first official game as host this Spring, the Grace Christian University Tigers put together three quality outings against fellow NCCAA opponent Maranatha Baptist University.

With a doubleheader on the bill for Friday, the Tigers dominated game one and recorded their first win in program history, 16-2, and built a 1-0 lead in game 2 before it was postponed to Saturday afternoon due to rain. Cole Crabtree finished off the final four innings on the mound for the Tigers Saturday and completed the shutout that was started Friday by Carter Hewitt - the Tigers' first shutout in program history. Crabtree finished with a record breaking performance which saw 7 strikeouts and no hits. Game three was similar to the first, with the Tigers building some serious momentum at the plate resulting in 17 runs scored - another program record - as they completed the sweep.

The Tigers head back on the road to Lawrence Tech on the eastside of the state Wednesday afternoon, facing the NAIA Blue Devils in a doubleheader beginning at 2:00 pm.
