The Grace Christian University women's basketball team enjoyed a week in Orlando to cap off their winter break, spending some quality time together off the court and going 2-0 on the hardcourt against NCCAA DII competition.
The Tigers defeated Johnson University-Florida 74-58 and Trinity Baptist College 65-59. MaKensie Mondt and
Ashlyn Wilkes led the Tigers with 16 and 15 points against Johnson. Wilkes had a double-double in the win over Trinity, recording 15 points and 11 rebounds. Mondy led the Tigers with 16 points and 5 steals. The main highlight on the court, though, was a significant milestone that was reached by
Emily Libey, as she had a season high 14 points and surpassed 1,000 for her career in the game at Johnson University. She is only the 17
th Tiger ever to reach that mark.
The Tigers finished their trip with a team outing at Universal Studios before returning back to Michigan for their second semester of classes on Monday.
Next up for the Tigers is a trip to Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI on Wednesday at 5:30 pm.
