Wyoming, MI - Grace volleyball came into their Monday night match with the Kuyper College Cougars at a 12-9 season record, and looking to increase their seeding for their upcoming regional playoffs. Already having beaten Kuyper earlier in the fall, the Tigers came into the match confident and started out hot.
In set one, Grace leaped out to an 11-1 lead to put the Cougars on their heels. The Tigers never looked back in the first set, winning it convincingly 25-12. Set two saw more of the same, though this time is was deadlocked at 8-8 before the Tigers finally started pulling away, eventually winning it 25-12 as well. The third and final set was where Grace slammed the door. The Tigers found a rhythm, cruising to a 25-7 victory to win the match in total.
Offensively on the night,
Alexa Borgman led the team in kills with 14, while
Kiersten Palmbos and
Lily Hulst provided the bulk of the assists with 20 and 14 respectively. Defensively,
Eleyna Zichterman added to her impressive career dig total with another 13, and
Leah Buller and
Alexa Borgman each had two blocks each.
The Tigers get a few days off before playing their final regular season matchup of the year, hosting Moody Bible College on Saturday at 12pm for the team's Senior Night. Come out and show your support for our senior class!
