Wyoming, MI - The Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders came to Velting Field on Wednesday afternoon. Both teams coming into the matchup ranked Top-10 in the NCCAA, it was expected to be a good test for both teams. 

Grace came out the gate strong with an unassisted goal in the 3rd minute by Rukundo Masengensho. The Tigers continued the scoring in the 21st minute with a second goal, this time by Kameron Link, assisted by Camden Bierling. Grace outshot Great Lakes 13 to 5 in the first half in what appeared to be the beginning of a lopsided game. 

The Crusaders would not go down so easily, and fought back in the second half. Scoring a goal in the 67th minute off a penalty kick, it appeared the Crusaders were getting more chances to score. Yet, the defense prevailed behind 3 second half saves in goal by Luis Vicario. The Tigers held on to complete a 2-1 victory. 

Though this was the only scheduled meeting between the two teams in 2023, it is expected that the two squads meet again in the regional playoffs. Grace has 5 more games on the schedule before then, with their next matchup at home on Friday the 6th at 4:30pm against another regional opponent, Maranatha Baptist University.
