Chicago, IL - The Grace Christian University Women's Volleyball team was crowned DII Midwest Regional Champs this weekend in Chicago, Illinois. On Friday evening the Tigers kicked off the regional tournament with a 3-0 clean sweep against Moody Bible Institute. The sweep continued into Saturday as they entered the regional championship against Maranatha Baptist University, defeating them 3-0. 

Morgan Martin led the Tigers with 19 kills and 21 digs throughout the weekend. Alexa Borgman added 16 kills and 3 blocks, while Lily Hulst recorded 32 assists. 

"Our plan going into the tournament was to stay consistent with our mental strength and focus on what we can do each point," said Head Coach Kerri Shultz. "Our energy was phenomenal and we were able to execute really well. We are excited to be peaking in our abilities as a team heading into Nationals!"

Grace will begin to prepare for the NCCAA DII National Tournament in Joplin, Missouri. Their first match up will be on Wednesday, November 15. It has been 3 years since the Tigers made it to the national tournament, but unfortunately were forced to withdraw due to COVID protocol.
