Wyoming, MI - The Grace Christian University men's soccer team took on the #23 ranked NAIA Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats last Friday evening at Velting Field. The Wildcats had a strong offense, but Grace held their own on defense, keeping the game scoreless for the first 35 minutes. The Tigers eventually would fall 0-3, allowing one goal at the end of the first half and two more in the second half.
Junior goalkeeper Luis Vicario recorded 5 saves in goal.
"We learned a lot about ourselves in this match against a very strong Indiana Wesleyan team," said Head Coach Dustin Buchanan. "We want to challenge ourselves and play these difficult matches in order to grow. I am incredibly proud of how the boys stayed disciplined and kept their shape. They committed to being well organized. Even after allowing goals never once did they let their heads drop or get down. They kept the fight and remained resolute in play from every single player."
The Tigers, now 1-1-1, return to the field on Thursday at 5pm as they take on University of Saint Francis (IN) at Velting Field.
