Wyoming, MI - Grace Christian welcomed Maranatha Baptist University on Friday afternoon for an NCCAA match up. Sophomore guard
Lily Helmuth came out big for the Tigers in the first quarter, as she went 3 for 3 beyond the arc. It was close and competitive as the quarter ended in a 15-15 tie. However, the second quarter was not as successful, as the Tigers were outscored 20-9.
Grace came back out after halftime looking to make a comeback. However, Maranatha kept their lead for the remainder of the game. The Tigers fell 48-60 to the Sabercats.
Despite the tough loss for the Tigers, Helmuth recorded her first double double of the season with 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Jada Reese scored 9 points, while
Zyan Tatum added 8.
Women's basketball is back in action this Saturday as they travel across town to face Kuyper College at 5pm.
